The process begins by sitting you comfortably in one of our operatories. We then place a small IV into your arm and deliver a safe, effective sedative into your system. Without about 15minutes, you will begin to enter a sleep-like state. We then perform the procedure as needed. The IV is removed from your arm and you are taken to one of our recovery rooms. You are given enough time to wake up so that you can leave the office. It is important that you have a friend or relative there who can bring you home from the appointment when needed.

Laughing Gas
At Pacific Northwest Dental, laughing gas is administered using a mask, allowing you to feel more at ease within minutes. Laughing gas is gentler than oral sedatives - you should feel back to normal by the time your treatment is completed! Most of our patients are good candidates for this form of sedation, including our pediatric dental patients.

Oral Sedation
Dr. Bradley will prescribe a pill to help you stay calm. All you have to do is swallow it an hour or so before your appointment and you'll feel relaxed and calm by the time you arrive at our Beaverton dental office for your appointment. You cannot drive yourself to your appointment after taking an oral sedative. Please be sure to arrange transportation to and from our office!
